The five thousandth year after Adam, God did not make
a covenant with man, because now God was working deep within the hearts of
mankind through the Holy Spirit as a result of the new covenant.
Jesus said, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.”
Three days after Jesus died, He was resurrected. God’s people represent the
spiritual Body of Christ which will be raised up on the third spiritual day.
After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we
may live in His sight.
Hosea 6:2
Your dead shall live; together with My dead body they shall arise. Awake and
sing, you who dwell in the dust; for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the
earth shall cast out her dead. Isaiah 26:19
Jesus died on the fourth spiritual day, so the year 2,000 represents two
spiritual days later. “After two days He will revive us; on the third he will
raise us up.”
During the three days before the resurrection of Jesus, He descended and
preached to the dead, Jesus was working deep inside the creation.
“For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish,
so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the
earth.”
Mathew 12:40
Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and
gave gifts to men.” {Now this, “He ascended”- what does it mean but that
He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is
also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all
things.}
Ephesians 4:8-10
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might
bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,
by whom He also went and preached to the spirits in prison, who were formerly
disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah,
while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were
saved through water. 1 Peter 3:18-20
For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they
might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the
spirit. 1 Peter 4:6
Jesus continued preaching even after His death, apparently Jesus spent three
days in the heart of the earth leading the captives, the spiritual principle I
see here is that Jesus descended into the lower parts of our hearts and He is
leading us by His Holy Spirit from deep within.
Jesus spent three days in the heart of the earth, and now He is spending three
thousand years in the heart of mankind through the distribution of the Holy
Spirit. When Jesus walked on the earth He could only be in one place at a time,
but when He ascended the Holy Spirit came without limitations of the flesh.
